واستكمل: “مباراة مالي كانت الأصعب على الاطلاق، لأن في أول 30 دقيقة كنا نُعاني من مشاكل دفاعية واحتسبت ضدنا ركلة جزاء، وطُرد لاعب من الفريق، وكانت مباراة أكثر تعقيدًا، وطلبت من اللاعبين أن يلعبوا كوحدة واحدة، لا أنسى مباراة مالي، لقد فزنا بهدفين ونحن 10 لاعبين”.

واستمر: “كانت بطولة قوية جدًا وشاهدنا الكثير من الأهداف الجميلة، ووضعت الفرق الكبيرة في مواقف صعبة، وهذا سر جمال البطولة، كان من الرائع أن نرى الفرق الصغيرة تشهد تطورًا كبيرًا، الآن يُمكننا أن نقول إنه لم يعد لدينا فريق صغير في إفريقيا”.

واستطرد: “لا توجد مفاجأة في أمم إفريقيا 2023 أكبر من خسارة كوت ديفوار أمام غينيا الإستوائية برباعية نظيفة، هذه هي المفاجأة الكبرى بغض النظر عن خروج المنتخبات الكبرى، المفاجأة الثانية هي فوز موريتانيا على الجزائر”.

وأشار: “نحن نترقب دائمًا مواجهة مصر، وكنا نتوقع أن نواجه الكثير من الفرق الكبيرة على رأسها مصر، وعندما تستهدف الفوز بالكأس فعليك أن تفوز على كل المنتخبات الكبيرة، وللأسف لم نواجه مصر بعد خروجها على يد الكونغو الديمقراطية، رغم أننا قبل البطولة توقعنا مُقابلتهم”.

وتابع: “خروج مصر ليس سوء حظ، علينا أن نعترف أن الكونغو الديمقراطية منتخب جيد وكان مُستعدًا بشكل أكبر من المنتخب المصري، وفي نهاية المطاف انتهت المباراة بركلات الترجيح التي ليس لها مقياس، ولا نغفل أن مصر بدأت البطولة بشكل سيئ ومفتقدين للتركيز، وافتقدوا تماسكهم المعتاد الذي رأيناه في البطولات السابقة، وضعوا أنفسهم في موقف صعب وكانت الشكوك تحوم حولهم، وسوء الحظ هو خسارتهم لـ محمد صلاح مُبكرًا وهو بالتأكيد لاعب مؤثر وغيابه يؤثر على الفريق ككل”.

وبسؤاله عن رأيه في تعيين حسام حسن مديرًا فنيًا لمنتخب مصر، قال: “الأمر يكون سهلًا عندما يتم تعيين مدرب وطني لأنه يعرف جميع اللاعبين عن قرب، ويعرف طبيعة الشعب، وللمنتخبات الإفريقية بشكل عام إذا أرادت أن تُحقق شيئًا في كأس الأمم عليها أن تتعاقد مع مدرب وطني، لأنه يعلم العادات والتقاليد وثقافة اللاعبين ويستطيع أن يتعامل معهم نفسيًا بشكل أفضل من الأجنبي”.

وبسؤاله، هل في المستقبل ترحب بالتدريب في مصر؟، قال: “كرة القدم المصرية مُثيرة ومُغرية لكثير من المدربين للعمل بها، لكن بالنسبة لي أريد أن أخذ الأمور خطوة بخطوة، أنا الآن فائز بكأس أمم إفريقيا ولدينا مهمة صعبة في تصفيات كأس العالم، ونريد التأهل للمونديال، وكل ما يشغلني اليوم هو أنني مدربًا للأفيال وأود أن أركز مع أهدافي الحالية، في بعض الأحيان أتابع الفرق المصرية في البطولات الإفريقية، وأتابع ما حققه الأهلي في السنوات الماضية، وربما في المستقبل أن أدرب في مصر”.

Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho's behaviour on social media recently hasn't 'gone down' so well with a section of the Reds fanbase amid uncertainty over his future at Anfield, according to Redmen TV pundit Ste Hoare.

What's the latest news involving Fabio Carvalho?

On his personal Instagram, Carvalho recently posted some cryptic replies to a post regarding his involvement in the Liverpool first team this term that seem to have caught media attention.

Replying to comments, Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga commented under his post said: 'Fresh home', which Carvalho said back: 'Soon. Ryan De Havilland, his old teammate at Fulham added, 'Next top model', to which Carvalho said 'All I do now'.

According to Football Insider, Carvalho has attracted interest in his services from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, who are said to have had an initial bid of £10 million for him rejected by Liverpool.

The report states that RB Leipzig offered more than £10 million for the £40k-a-week ace; however, they are expected to return with another proposal to try and entice the 20-year-old to Germany.

As per The Daily Mail, Jurgen Klopp has spoken about what could happen to Carvalho next season, stating: "I think there is a maybe a possibility Fabio goes on loan. But the thing is this was not Fabio's best year in his career, clearly, but it might have been his most important. No player has impressed me more than Fabio, it is the truth. This talented boy came here with big dreams and big expectations and it didn’t work out – it was okay in the beginning but it didn't work out in the end."

Speaking to Football FanCast, Redmen TV presenter Hoare thinks that Carvalho's recent behaviour has been a strange development that will have split the Liverpool fanbase somewhat.

Hoare told FFC: "His Instagram activity, that was very un-Liverpool like when he's dropping little hints here and there and I don't think that's gone down too well with a section of the fanbase. I understand he's frustrated and he wants to play more, but Liverpool have played young players; Jurgen Klopp has picked young players and given them opportunities. He's given Fabio Carvalho some opportunities; maybe he just hasn't done what Jurgen wanted."

Everton are expected to be "in the race" to sign Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay this summer, according to a new transfer update.

Have Everton been linked with McTominay?

The £60,000-a-week Scot has had to accept being a bit-part player at Old Trafford this season, following the signings of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen last summer.

While McTominay clearly still did his bit in helping United win the EFL Cup and finish third in the Premier League, he only made 10 starts in the latter and came off the substitutes' bench 14 times, highlighting his squad role.

For that reason, it could be that the 26-year-old decides a fresh challenge needs to come his way this summer in order to become a key man elsewhere, rather than a solid cog in the machine. Everton have been linked with a move for him in the past, with the Blues eyeing him up as a strong option to bolster their midfield.

Now, a new update has emerged that further suggests the United man could be heading to Goodison Park in the near future.

Are Everton still in the hunt to sign McTominay?

According to Football Insider, Everton are "likely to be in the race to sign" McTominay in the summer window, with United "ready to listen to offers for the Scotland international following his limited involvement in the 2022-23 campaign".

That being said, the report does go on to add that he would cost the Blues "in excess of £20million", meaning it would be "very hard" for them to complete a move for him.

Should the situation resolve itself and Everton emerge in a strong position to sign McTominay this summer, he could be exactly what they are looking for, having been hailed as a "special" player by Jose Mourinho during his time at Old Trafford.

While he is arguably no longer at the level required to be a key figure at United, there is no shame in that, and his quality could really shine through at a lower-ranked club such as Everton. He has now racked up 209 appearances for the Red Devils, not to mention winning 38 caps for Scotland, and his box-to-box dynamism could boost the Blues at both ends of the pitch.

In 2022/23, McTominay averaged 1.9 clearances per game in the Premier League, as well as scoring seven goals for club and country, two of which came in a famous 2-0 win for Scotland over Spain back in March, showing how effective he can be in attack and defence, which could be the key to Everton's fortunes improving after another close shave with relegation.

Who could join Tottenham this summer?

The broadcaster does however claim that both Maddison and Barnes are certainly of interest, and Spurs are even holding "behind-the-scenes" discussions over whether to move.

How much will James Maddison cost?

While the report concerns both Maddison and Barnes, we believe a move for the former is of far more importance, especially considering his fine form last season.

The playmaker stood out as Leicester's star player, averaging a higher match rating than anybody in their squad over 2022/2023.

Maddison also attempted more shots at goal and completed more key passes per 90 than all of his teammates, highlighting why Tottenham are displaying an interest.

The 26-year-old, who looks set to leave the King Power Stadium following Leicester's relegation to the Championship, could still cost a pretty penny.

Indeed, reports suggest the Foxes value their prized asset at around £60 million, even despite their drop to England's second tier.

وبسؤاله هل هناك لاعب أعجبك في الفريقين؟، أجاب: “لا لم أشعر بأن هناك فارق بين أي لاعب في الفريقين، لم يكن هناك من كان مذهلًا أو من سرق الأضواء، الأداء كان ثابتًا، والدفاع كان قويًا حتى دخول الهدفين”.

واستطرد: “الهدف الأول أحببته، لأن اللاعب الشاب (يقصد إمام عاشور) ركض واستغل المساحة في مباراة مغلقة وجمود في الموقع، لم يكن هناك من يتحرك ويطلب الكرة في المساحات، لكن هذا اللاعب فعل ذلك”.

وبسؤاله منذ وصولك للرياض وجماهير الاتحاد والأهلي والنصر والهلال تطالب بالتعاقد معك، ورد: “أنا هنا الآن حتى يوم الأحد صباحًا هذا ما أعرفه”.
