So I think he is doing absolutely fine. He understands his game, he understands his role, but it doesn’t come off every time.”Shastri went on to suggest that the nature of television might have prompted some experts to offer the views they did.”Not so long ago I used to do television and people used to ask me questions. You need to answer questions to make a show happen,” he said. “Dhoni is a superstar. He is one of our greatest cricketers. O Verdão do Oeste pode até perder por um gol de diferença no domingo, que mesmo assim será campeão. O Quadricolor precisa de uma vitória de pelo menos dois gols para levar o jogo para os pênaltis.

O Chapecoense começou o jogo a mil por hora. Brusque não conseguia nem respirar tamanha era pressão do Verdão do Oeste. Em quinze minutos, foram três ótimas oportunidades criadas, mas Anselmo Ramon (duas vezes) e Denner não conseguiram marcar.

A superioridade era tão grande, que o gol era questão! E ele veio, aos 20 minutos. Em cobrança de falta, a bola foi levantada na área. Após bate e rebate, ela acabou no pé de Luiz Otávio que bateu e inaugurou o marcador: 1 a 0 para a Chapecoense.

O gol deveria estimular a busca de outros gols, mas o Verdão do Oeste fez justamente o contrário. Se fechou na defesa com o objetivo de levar a vantagem para o intervalo.

A Chape conseguiu segurar o placar, mas tomou pressão e poderia ter tomado o gol de empate. Só que Thiago Alagoano não conseguiu obter êxito em sua finalização e desperdiçou a chance de igualar o placar.

O mesmo Thiago Alagoano que não aproveitou a chance no primeiro tempo, voltou a perder outra boa oportunidade no começo da etapa complementar. Ele recebeu a bola, dominou e bateu, mas a finalização saiu pela linha de fundo.

O Quadricolor continuou ao longo do segundo tempo buscando a igualdade, mas o que acabou acontecendo foi mais um gol do Verdão do Oeste. A bola foi alçada na área após cobrança de falta, a zaga do Brusque não conseguiu tirar, mas Joílson estava ligado e conseguiu completar para as redes: Chapecoense 2 a 0.

O segundo gol fez a partida diminuir de ritmo, pois o Brusque não quis atacar para não correr o risco de tomar mais no contra-ataque. A Chapecoense só fez administrar a vitória de dois gols de diferença.

Who will Spurs sign?

The north Londoners could make further signings before September 1, even despite already sealing deals for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, youngster Ashley Phillips, defender Micky van de Ven, playmaker James Maddison, winger Manor Solomon and striker Alejo Veliz.

Spurs have started the new campaign very brightly, remaining unbeaten under new head coach Ange Postecoglou, who has also successfully implemented his brand of high octane, attacking football so far.

Spurs leaked a woeful 63 league goals in the English top flight alone last term, more than any other side above 15th in the table, which will come as an alarming stat for Postecoglou and his backroom staff.

Following the arrival of van de Ven, Tottenham have been linked with the likes of Torino defender Perr Schuurs and Bayer Leverkusen's Edmond Tapsoba to plug the gaps.

Another centre-back option is Lenglet, who already has Premier League experience with Spurs after spending the whole of last season on loan at N17.

The Frenchman has been repeatedly linked with a return to the club, but the prospective move may intensify this week, as reported by Sport.

The Spanish news outlet claims Barca are "open to negotiating the transfer of Lenglet to Tottenham", which comes as his transfer to Saudi Arabia falls through.

Spurs, meanwhile, are willing to re-sign the Lenglet on another loan deal – and the Catalans are eager to resolve his future by the end of this week.

This is because his exit is absolutely necessary to free up space for Joao Cancelo's arrival from Man City.

What's been said about Clement Lenglet?

Over his 26 league appearances for Tottenham last term, Lenglet averaged a cool 87.5% passing accuracy out from the back, making him a potentially good candidate for Postecoglou as he looks to play out from the back (WhoScored).

The former Sevilla star is already familiar with the demands of high-intensity English football, with goalkeeper Hugo Lloris heaping praise on his compatriot last summer.

"He's a modern defender," said Lloris.

"Comfortable to be able to play from the back. He has a great left foot and can be very strong in one v one and he's strong in the air.

"Even if it's never easy when you arrive in the Premier League and he will have to adapt to the intensity of the games but he is a high level player, with experience."

If Barca are willing to let the 28-year-old make a comeback to the club on loan, it could be an astute option for Tottenham who quite simply need more reliable options in that area of the squad.

Everton are in a world of bother not one month into the 2023/24 season, but Sean Dyche can remedy the woes by completing a swoop for a high-profile Premier League star.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire would now consider leaving Old Trafford as the summer market approaches kitchen sink time.

The Red Devils need funds to complete some late-summer swoops themselves, and having rejected a recent loan offer from West Ham United for the England international, Everton could now 'come into the picture'.

The Hammers failed to agree on a £30m move for Maguire earlier this month, but now Dyche's side could leapfrog their divisional rivals by lodging an offer of their own.

What are Harry Maguire's strengths?

While Everton's flimsiness in front of goal was the crux of their misfortune last season – finishing the term as the division's second-lowest scorers – the omens from this year's fledging phase do not bode well.

Indeed, the Goodison Park side have fallen to defeat in each of their opening three matches and are yet to find the back of the net, having lost 1-0 at home to Fulham and Wolverhampton Wanderers (the latter a dyed-in-the-wool relegation candidate) and suffered an embarrassing 4-0 defeat at the hand of Aston Villa at Villa Park.

With issues at both ends, Dyche is wise to be considering defensive reinforcement despite focusing heavily on the reconstruction of the frontline, and Maguire could be the industrious presence needed at the back.

While Manchester United's £80m centre-half has been lamented for his performances over the past few years, described as a "walking disaster" by journalist Samuel Luckhurst, he is a tough and tenacious player who would undoubtedly cement a starting berth in Dyche's outfit.

Considering that Yerry Mina, Conor Coady and Mason Holgate have all left Goodison Park this summer, a fresh face to bolster the backline is paramount to the club's effort to drag themselves away from the danger zone.

Mina was particularly important in the latter stage of the 2022/23 campaign, shaking off his incessant injury issues – missing 31 matches across the past two campaigns – to make a big impact, recording an impressive average Sofascore rating of 7.20 across just seven appearances, scoring two goals, completing 88% of his passes, and averaging 2.1 tackles and four clearances per outing.

The towering Colombian was hailed as an "absolute colossus" by The Athletic's Patrick Boyland for one notable display in the closing weeks, scoring a late goal to prevent defeat against Wolves, and Dyche would find his perfect heir if Maguire was convinced to join the fold on Merseyside.

Maguire, who coincidentally has also been dubbed a "colossus" by talkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan, has made 175 appearances for the Old Trafford side and has been instrumental in Gareth Southgate's England side over the past several years, earning 57 caps and scoring seven times.

Once praised as an "unbelievable player" by teammate Luke Shaw, Maguire's ball-playing ability and aerial prowess would slot him right into Dyche's system, ranking among the top 18% of positional peers across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for passes attempted, the top 10% for aerial wins and the top 22% for progressive carries per 90, as per FBref.

Mina, on the other hand, fares a lot worse in most of those metrics, ranking in just the top 51% for passes attempted and the very worst 9% for progressive carries. On the flip side, he is a tower in the air, ranking inside the best 6%. It does, however, look like he is more of a one-trick pony than Maguire on that evidence.

While the £190k-per-week defender has somewhat flattered to deceive of late, he remains a solid centre-back and also boasts a far better injury record to Mina.

Given that Maguire spent several years as United's club captain, he would also offer leadership and authority to a Toffees team lacking in both departments, and if Dyche manages to orchestrate a transfer, the Merseyside outfit's prospects this year would increase significantly.
