Cricket South Africa and the security team at the Wanderers are investigating an incident of racial abuse directed towards Imran Tahir during the pink ODI on Saturday.According to CSA, Tahir was “verbally and racially abused by an unknown man” in the crowd. He reported the incident to stadium security, who then escorted Tahir to identify the man and eject him from the stadium.A grainy video has emerged on Facebook, taken from the stands, which shows Tahir talking to fans. The only words that could be made out from Tahir was him saying “I have family too”. Several spectators could be heard accusing him of being a bad sportsman.CSA said they are “aware of the circulation of video footage,” and that Tahir “made no physical contact with the offender or any of the children in the vicinity.”Racism goes against the ICC’s code of conduct and spectators can face further sanctions and criminal prosecution if found guilty.

من جهة أخرى، كشف لاعب ريال مدريد فيدي فالفيردي إنه سيرث قميص توني كروس في “سانتياجو برنابيو”.

وقال فالفيردي في تصريحات نشرتها شبكة “فوتبول إسبانيا” اليوم: “أنا أحب الرقم 15، حلمي في ريال مدريد بدأ بهذا الرقم”.

The Whites did swiftly move to try and plug that gap as Jaidon Anthony made the move in the other direction from the Cherries, with the 23-year-old loanee previously bagging eight goals and six assists in the second tier in 2021/22 to help his parent club to promotion.

It remains to be seen just how the Englishman will adapt to life in west Yorkshire however, although Farke and co do also have the bonus of having kept hold of teenage starlet, Wilfried Gnonto, despite the 19-year-old having been the subject of strong interest from Everton.

After initially refusing to play and handing in a transfer request as he looked to join the queue of departures over the summer, the Italy international is now back in the fold to help try and propel the club back into the Premier League, having notably netted in the 4-3 thriller against Ipswich Town last month.

Farke will also have the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Daniel James to call upon as options on the flanks, although the former Norwich City boss may be wise to look to the academy to find another devastating attacking talent, such as 18-year-old, Luca Thomas.

Who is Luca Thomas?

The versatile forward – who can operate out wide or in a central striker role – was rewarded with his first professional contract last year amid what has been a fine run of form at academy level in recent times, with the youngster proving himself something of a goal machine of late.

With experience training with the first-team already under his belt, the Crewe-born sensation only recently hit the headlines after bagging a clinical hat-trick against Brighton and Hove Albion in the opening game of the new Premier League 2 season.

That was followed by an assist in the subsequent 2-1 victory over rivals Manchester United, ensuring that the Englishman now boasts four goal involvements from just four outings at U21 level so far this season.

Having been poached from Manchester City's youth set-up back in the summer of 2021, Thomas went on to prove a particularly prolific presence at U18 level for the Yorkshire giants with 23 goals and three assists in just 32 games at that age group to date.

That stellar return included 15 goals in just 17 U18 Premier League games during his debut season at Elland Road, while he also caught the eye after netting from his inside own half against Newcastle United back in January.

Such consistent form since arriving in Leeds would suggest that the exciting left-footer can go on to join the likes of Gnonto and Anthony in forming part of Farke's attacking arsenal, with such a promotion likely to help ease the loss of the aforementioned Sinisterra.

Mark Stoneman, the England opener, is aware his next two Tests against New Zealand could go a long way to deciding his international future as he tries to secure one of England’s troubled top-order positions.Stoneman has shown moments of promise in his eight Tests to date – and the England management like what they have seen – but has failed to convert three fifties into a century. Having played three matches against West Indies last season and then the five Ashes Tests, he averages 27.07 which is very similar to many of the openers tried since Andrew Strauss retired more than five years ago.After facing Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins over five bruising encounters in Australia – literally in the case of the blow on the helmet Stoneman took against Hazlewood in Perth – it would have been understandable if Stoneman had wanted to hightail it out, but instead he spent another six weeks in the country visiting in-laws (his wife is from Australia) and netting with Surrey team-mate Ollie Pope. He only had 10 days back in the UK before heading to New Zealand.With the selectors having quickly named their squad for this tour after the Ashes – “It’s nice to have that bit of faith in you,” Stoneman said – he did not have to fret over his place, but now has two Tests, one of them the potentially demanding experience of a day-night encounter at Eden Park, to persuade those selectors he is worth keeping for the home season against Pakistan and India. He knows the only way to stop the questions is to score big.”I think I’ve got myself on trial really,” he said. “I always put myself under pressure and can be my own worst critic at times. He was 52 at the time, having survived a barrage of short stuff to reach his second fifty in five innings in the series, but then fell four runs later when he feathered another searing short ball from Starc. At that point he had made 186 runs; his next four innings brought 42.”I think it was just coincidental on the back of that and it was unfortunate I wasn’t able to finish the series stronger,” he said.The challenge ahead in New Zealand will be less brutal than across the Tasman – although Neil Wagner will no doubt test his technique against the short ball – but more about the moving ball. However, despite what is on the line Stoneman is trying to keep a balance amid the pressure of the international game.”Problems start arising when you start living on the peaks and troughs of cricket,” he said. “Just trying to keep things on a general level in life and you work hard at the cricket and at the end of the day it will be what it’ll be.”

وقال سمير عثمان في تصريحات عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “لا أعرف لماذا لم يحتسب حكم مباراة الزمالك وسيراميكا طردًا ضد حسام عبد المجيد بسبب عرقلة مهاجم سيراميكا في فرصة محققة، رغم أن حكم الفيديو استدعاه وعمل ما عليه، لكن حكم الساحة لم يُشهر البطاقة الحمراء للاعب الزمالك”.
