Emprestado ao Flamengo pelo Braga, de Portugal, até dezembro, Bruno Viana é o primeiro reforço contratado para a temporada de 2021, que começará dias depois do encerramento do Campeonato Brasileiro de 2020, nesta quinta-feira.

Arsenal's hopes of finally lifting another Premier League crown took a mammoth hit away at Fulham on Sunday afternoon.
The back end of 2023 has not been kind to the Gunners who now only have one win to show for their efforts in their last five games.
The defeat against West Ham was perhaps unfortunate, no matter how poor they were in both boxes. Indeed, they registered a whopping 77 touches in the opposition's penalty area without scoring.
This time they did score as they ultimately slipped to a 2-1 defeat. On this occasion, they certainly did deserve it. This was one of the worst performances under Mikel Arteta's reign so far and leaves them in a battle to secure a top-four berth, let alone challenge for the title.
They are now level on points with Manchester City and could slip even further behind in the race if Liverpool beat Newcastle on New Year's Day.
There were a host of nominees for the Gunners' worst performer on the day, but Eddie Nketiah was sadly one player who didn't stand up when it mattered at Craven Cottage.

This was a glorious opportunity for the English forward to stake a claim to Arteta. After all, he already has a hat-trick this season in the league – against Sheffield United – and Gabriel Jesus hasn't exactly been prolific, scoring just three Premier League goals.
However, this is a player who now hasn't scored away from home in the top flight for a year. He ends 2023 without an away goal to his name at this level; a statistic that rather sums up the attacker's laboured approach to the game.
There is no doubting that Nketiah is a good finisher. He's a cracking poacher but the fact of the matter is he doesn't possess the tools to be a threat against a low block. The 24-year-old also doesn't offer a great amount in the build-up phase either.
That was seen first-hand against Fulham were he dropped an "utterly anonymous" performance as SPORTbible's Tom Marshall-Bailey put it.
This was a torrid afternoon for Nketiah with the striker perhaps rightfully earning just a 4/10 match rating courtesy of the Standard. That may even be rather generous for a man who managed just 24 touches of the ball – six fewer than goalkeeper David Raya – and only eight accurate passes in 90 minutes of play.

Nketiah offered very little throughout, managing just one chance of note, firing wide from a tight angle during the first half.

In truth, it would be a great surprise if the forward's time at Arsenal came to an end in January but if the Gunners are serious about toppling Manchester City come next May, they need an upgrade.
They don't just need an upgrade on Nketiah, however. They need a more natural goalscorer than Jesus too.
A deal for Ivan Toney is one the club "want" to do as per Miguel Delaney of the Independent but with a £100m asking price previously touted, splashing such an amount of cash in January will not be easy.
That said, even before a striker arrives, raising funds by selling Nketiah might not be the worst idea. His overall goal tally speaks volumes and he's attracted interest from across the league too.
Only this weekend was it reported by The Daily Mail that Arsenal had rejected an enquiry from Crystal Palace for the former Leeds loanee.

Well, after this display, it may not be a surprise if they chase up a few bids over the course of the next month. Nketiah will very likely be an Arsenal player once the window closes, but that is a sad fact that speaks volumes of the club's recent plight. They need to get rid, and get rid soon.

Doctors were concerned that Mitchell Marsh may had suffered a ruptured testicle when he was struck in the box while preparing for the return of the Sheffield Shield.Marsh underwent surgery, after the blow he took while getting throw downs in the nets, which revealed the injury wasn’t as serious as feared and he was suffering from severe bleeding. He was ruled out of the match against New South Wales, but is set to return to action against South Australia at the WACA on Sunday.”I basically got hit in the box by one of our coaches on the flicker [used for throw downs],” Marsh said. “Usually, when you get hit in the box, it lasts for a couple of minutes and goes away. But after half-an-hour, I was in the exact same pain.”I got taken to hospital to double check. I had a scan where they thought I potentially ruptured one of my testicles. But once they got in there, it was just basically severe bleeding. It was best-case scenario. It was pretty sore for a few days. They’re still both working hopefully so it’s good.”Marsh is still experiencing some pain but said he was confident heading into the next Sheffield Shield round. “Once you get out in the middle and your competitive juices are flowing, I won’t be thinking about this at all.”It has been a challenging season for Marsh who has lost his place in both the Test team – for which he was vice-captain – and the ODI side. Still, it's yet another exhilarating display amongst many from the 22-year-old this season who is proving to be more crucial for Leeds as the months drag on in the long Championship campaign.
Georginio Rutter is also proving to be a key figure for the Whites this season, finally endearing himself to the hardened Leeds fanbase and showing now why the club splashed a record fee of £36m on the attacker in the last January transfer window with another classy performance.

It could well be a spot Farke plays him in now for the foreseeable based on the match versus Birmingham, the Leeds number 24 registering three key passes in that new number ten spot in the team.
Moreover, the breakthrough Leeds star is now onto 17 big chances created as a focal point in attack this season with all of the attacking moves orchestrated against a suspect Blues side seemingly coming through Rutter.
Beren Cross writing for Leeds Live handed out an 8/10 rating to the youngster in the aftermath of the 2-0 win, stating that this switch of position allows the Frenchman the freedom to play in the 'heart of attack' where he was 'pulling the strings' versus Birmingham.
It's not as if the 21-year-old was afraid to test Ruddy either, hitting two on-target efforts at the Blues goal in a bid to make the win even more grand.

On pitches tailor-made to suit them, the quicks have dominated both South Africa’s engagements and the headlines, and amid falling batting averages, the official line has been that as long as South Africa are winning, who cares if the runs aren’t coming?But a closer look at the numbers shows that while the feeling of a general malaise in South African batting at home is perhaps justified, all batsmen are not struggling equally. While others have floundered, Faf du Plessis has led from the front as he seeks to transform himself from merely very good to great ahead of the World Cup.”Probably about a year or two ago, I wanted to transition from a good player to try and become a great player,” du Plessis said after the second ODI against Sri Lanka, having made his seventh score of fifty or more in his last seven internationals that afternoon. “So, I challenged myself mentally that when I get to 30s and 40s, I want to make big runs. De acordo com o parágrafo6º, do Artigo 18, do regulamento da Série A1 do Campeonato Paulista, não há limite de registro e inscrição de atletas estrangeiros pelos clubes, mas somente cinco poderão ser incluídos na súmula entre titulares e reservas.No Brasileirão, a situação é a mesma.
Já a Conmebol, órgão máximo do futebol Sul-Americano, não define um limite de atletas estrangeiros, fazendo com que, na Libertadores, isso não seja um problema para o São Paulo.
Atualmente, o Tricolor conta com justamente cinco estrangeiros no elenco, são eles: – Arboleda (Equador); – Orejuela (Colômbia); – João Rojas (Equador); – Galeano (Paraguai); – Tréllez (Colômbia).
No momento, o São Paulo poderia relacionar todos seus atletas estrangeiros para uma partida, porém, caso contrate Gabriel Neves, deverá tomar cuidado para não exceder o limite, precisando revezar os relacionados.
Dentre os estrangeiros, Tréllez e Carneiro são os mais prováveis de deixarem o clube.
O colombiano não vem sendo aproveitado pelo São Paulo e, caso a situação continue assim, pretende rescindir o contrato, que vai até o fim de 2021 e sair. O Sport está interessado na contratação do atacante, que não foi inscrito no Paulista. As informações são do Globo Esporte.
