A decisão do treinador corintiano aconteceu por conta da ausência de opções no banco de reservas para o setor, já que o titular da posição, Gil, cumpria suspensão pelo terceiro cartão amarelo.

Desde a notificação, Léo deixou de fazer parte dos relacionados até mesmo da equipe sub-23, onde fez um jogo, disputando 90 minutos, no dia 17 de junho, e estava sendo utilizada para o zagueiro ganhar ritmo de jogo.

Ainda segundo o “Meu Timão”, o resultado da contraprova foi inconclusivo e Léo Santos está liberado para ser relacionado.

Como a autorização para o retorno do defensor aconteceu na última semana, Sylvinho entendeu por bem mantê-lo fora dos relacionados, mesmo diante da necessidade de um zagueiro para compor o banco de reservas.

Nesta temporada, o Timão perdeu dois zagueiros: Jemerson, que não teve o seu contrato renovado em junho, e Bruno Méndez, emprestado ao Internacional. So, the "electric" Fenerbahçe star, as dubbed by data analyst Ben Mattinson, just about comes out on top there, but an area in which he comfortably comes out on top is positional versatility.

In his career to date, the Arnhem-born dynamo has started 66 games at left-back, 56 in attacking midfield, 44 at right wing, 37 at right-back, 23 at left wing, 19 in left and right midfield, 15 in central midfield, and even one as a second striker and defensive midfielder.

In contrast, the Englishman has started 305 matches at left-back, 21 at centre-back and 14 in left midfield, so while he could argue he's more experienced in the role the two players will be fighting over, his overall usefulness to Ten Hag will be significantly less in comparison.

This ability to play all over the pitch could help the 24-year-old form a great partnership with De Ligt, as he might start one game to the left of him, the next to his right and the one after that ahead of him.

Moreover, the fact that he's that bit more effective going forward could see him make the most of the fact that FBref, which compares players in similar positions across Europe's top five leagues, ranks the Dutchman in the top 4% of centre-backs for completed passes, the 10% for progressive passes and the top 15% for attempted passes.

Ultimately, Shaw is an undeniably talented left-back, but so is Kadioglu, and if the Englishman cannot be relied upon to stay fit, then bringing in the Turkish international to replace him makes sense, especially if he can also be used as a utility player across the pitch and form an understanding with De Ligt.

Os pequenos torcedores ganharam um tour completo, brincaram de chute ao gol na beira do gramado e puderam ir ao museu do clube. Essa ação fez parte do lançamento da programação da 22ª Corrida para Vencer o Diabetes.

Os consulados da torcida do Inter também são engajados em trabalhos solidários. Ian Maatsen, Samuel Iling-Junior, Cameron Archer, Lewis Dobbin, Enzo Barrenechea and Ross Barkley have all been announced and confirmed as Villa signings, with the six new squad members costing a combined £86 million.

Going the other way, Villa have managed to offload Douglas Luiz, Tim Iroegbunam and Morgan Sanson for around £56 million – with Calum Chambers leaving the club by mutual consent and Philippe Coutinho sealing a move to Vasco de Gama as well.

Despite their PSR concerns, Villa have wasted no time at all in identifying two more major signings on top of the aforementioned bunch. In the last 48 hours, Fabrizio Romano shared news that Monchi has activated matching rights as they seal a reunion with Philogene.

The Hull City winger will re-join Villa for around £13 million, due to a 30 per cent sell-on clause in his contract, with Emery personally wanting the 22-year-old back as Monchi grants the Spaniard's wish.

Following on from one of the Championship's star wingers of last season, it now appears Everton midfielder Amadou Onana is on the verge of joining Emery as well.

Pundit thrilled as Villa also eye Joao Felix move

Speaking to Villa News, amid this clamor of transfer activity, pundit and podcaster Ty Bracey has endorsed a move for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix.

Villa have been heavily linked with a move for Felix as they look to add a new striker and potentially replace Jhon Duran. Bracey says Felix would be a good signing for Villa, but cautions that he'll likely cost a "marquee" sum.

“I do think it would be a good signing but an expensive one for sure, his wage would probably be in excess of £180,000-a-week, that wouldn’t surprise me," said Bracey.

“He’d definitely be a marquee signing, I think he’d be great but it all hinges on if he wants to join. He brings Champions League experience, he’s played at the highest level so the pressure side of the game wouldn’t be a problem.

“He’s a very talented footballer, very skilful and we know he’s capable of scoring goals so he’s not someone I would say no to.“

Interestingly, recent reports have even claimed that both Monchi and Emery believe they can turn Felix into a star at Villa.

وأكد: “نحن نعلم أنه يمكننا استخدام هؤلاء اللاعبين في كل مباراة، وكذلك في مباراة الغد، أعرف أشخاصًا من هذه المنطقة يلعبون أيضًا لهذا النادي (أكرينجتون)، هناك الكثير مما أعرفه بالفعل، وبالطبع أعرف الكثير عن الفريق، اليوم سأعرف المزيد لأننا سنبحث أكثر اليوم.”

ومازح: “لا أعرف الكثير عنهم لأنني هنا منذ نصف عام، ولكنني رأيت إعلان الحليب هذا!”.

ويعود الأمر إلى كون أكرينجتون موضوعًا لنكتة تتعلق بالألبان، بفضل إعلان تم بثه في ثمانينيات القرن العشرين، حيث يخبر صبي صديقه بأنه إذا لم يشرب الحليب، فإن إيان راش (أسطورة ليفربول)، يقول إنه لن يكون جيدًا للعب إلا مع أكرينجتون!

وتطرق سلوت للحديث عن مستوى الفريق، حيث تعادل مع مانشستر يونايتد في الدوري الإنجليزي وخسر من توتنهام في ذهاب نصف نهائي كأس كاراباو.

وقال الهولندي: “لا أرى اختلافات كثيرة عن المباريات الأخرى، حتى آخر مباراتين، ربما كنا نستحق الفوز في جميع المباريات باستثناء تشيلسي ولكن لم يكن ذلك بفارق كبير ولكننا بحاجة إلى زيادة هذا الفارق وإلا فإنك تعتمد على القليل من الحظ أو قرار معين، ويجب أن نتأكد من أننا لم نعد نعتمد على ذلك، تلك الخطوة التي يجب علينا اتخاذها”.

وشدد: “لا نريد الاعتماد على الحظ، كانت لدى كريستال بالاس فرصة للفوز علينا، وأمام توتنهام إذا منح الحكم البطاقة الحمراء، لكنا حافظنا على نظافة شباكنا (طالب ليفربول بطرد بيرجفال قبل ثواني من تسجيله هدف الفوز)، وربما سجلنا ضد 10 لاعبين ويقول الجميع إننا سيطرنا على المباراة”.

واسترسل:”لكوننا استقبلنا هدفًا، فالأمر يتعلق الآن بكوننا غير جيدين، هذا هو جوهر اللعبة، هل هناك حقًا كل هذا الاختلاف؟ ما زلنا نفس الفريق ونفس الأداء”.

وعن هارفي إليوت، قال: “إنه موهوب، أتفق في ذلك، كان كذلك لفترة طويلة، كان حاضرًا كثيرًا في الأسابيع الأخيرة، ولكنه مثل كل الآخرين، يتنافسون مع لاعبين، كان سئ الحظ من حيث الإصابة وغاب لفترة طويلة، ليس من السهل العودة وتقديم أفضل ما لديك على الفور”.

واستأنف: “كييزا؟ حسنًا، كما قلت، كل مباراة هي فرصة للجميع من أجل اللعب، لم يكن الأمر صعبًا عليه فقط بسبب اللياقة البدنية، ولكن عليه التنافس مع لاعبين مثل محمد صلاح، جاكبو، دياز، جوتا ونونيز، الجميع يعلم الأرقام التي يحققها محمد صلاح، لا توجد أسباب كثيرة لاستبداله، كما إنه يتمتع بلياقة بدنية عالية، يبذل قصارى جهده للحفاظ على لياقته البدنية، ويظهر ذلك بشكل واضح”.

Mitchell Starc around the wicket, full delivery, Vihari pokes, it’s a thick edge behind, Paine dives full length to his right and gets a glove but can’t hold on! So both these batsmen have been dropped now and the drama continues. There’s also a bit of chatter going on now between Tim Paine and R Ashwin off Lyon’s bowling. Ashwin has even been withdrawing from the stance at times. Shiva Jayaraman has been digging up some numbers meanwhile to make sense of this vigil:

This has been one of the best rearguard actions by India in their Test history. At present, this is their 10th longest fourth innings effort in terms of balls faced, and their sixth longest away from home. The last time they batted out more balls in the fourth innings was at Delhi against Pakistan in 1979-80.

It’s not been just one partnership that has held the fort as has been the case often in the past in such fourth-innings spectacles. India batsmen’s have put a prize on their wickets and have been determined to make Australia bowlers toil hard. Four batsmen – Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Hanuma Vihari and R Ahswin – have faced 100-plus balls. This is only the second time four of India’s batsmen have faced 100-plus balls in the fourth innings of a Test. Including Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, six batsmen have faced 50 or more balls in this innings, which also makes it the first instance for India when six of their batsmen have each faced at least 50 balls in the fourth innings of a Test match. There have been a few fourth-innings marathons by teams in Australia in the recent past, but a majority of these has come at venues with drop-in pitches. Such marathon efforts at the SCG – which doesn’t have a drop-in pitch – have been rare. One would have to back to the ’63-64 for a longer innings by a team in the fourth innings of a Test match at the SCG. On that occasion, South Africa batted out 117 eight-ball overs to earn a draw against the hosts.
