He's a solid striker but Julen Lopetegui is keen to finish his frontline off with a flourish, as another striker is reportedly on the radar.

According to il Romanista over in Italy, West Ham are still in for AS Roma's Tammy Abraham, who is expected to leave the Serie A club this summer.

The Irons looked to have cooled their interest after signing Fullkrug, but having failed to sign Aston Villa maverick Jhon Duran, might look to ensure they have sufficient depth at the spearhead.

Abraham has been a prolific presence in Italy but was wrecked by a knee injury last term, only posting one goal and one assist apiece, starting just twice.

Still, the former Chelsea star has proved himself across different levels and could be a real treat at the London Stadium – for just €25m (£21m), this could prove to be a bargain for United technical director Tim Steidten.

But wait, Fullkrug scored 16 goals and assisted ten more for Dortmund last season, transferring his form onto the international stage and starring for Germany at Euro 2024.

There's no doubting Fullkrug's potency, but Michail Antonio has entered the late stage of his career and the German's no spring chicken either.

Abraham could be brought in to ensure the Hammers have enough firepower to provide Lopetegui with a constant stream of goals without pulling Bowen away from his favoured right flank.

Once described as a "goal machine" by former coach Stephen Elliott, Abraham has clinched 48 goal contributions across 107 fixtures for Roma since signing from Chelsea for £34m in 2021.

His time in west London established him as a reliable strike threat in the Premier League, bagging 15 goals from just 25 top-flight starts in 2019/20 and winning the Champions League the year after, which shows that he has what it takes to score an eye-catching number of goals in England.

His character and deceptive footwork highlight qualities that go beyond that of a mere marksman, and this could be invaluable for the Hammers when seeking out sequences to score and create, as he can be involved in the build-up whilst also being the player looking to finish off moves in front of goal.

Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini even claimed that he could become "one of the best in the world" before the ACL injury that ravaged his past year of football, and West Ham should now follow that up and offer him a place to restore his pedigree.

Abraham's indeed more than just a goalscorer, and his link-up play and quality as a dynamic focal point might just ensure that Bowen continues his lasting purple patch in the final third.

Arriving from Hull City in the Championship for about £22m in January 2020, Bowen was the linchpin of Moyes' success in east London, crowning the Scotsman's era with the winning goal in the Conference League final, winning a piece of European silverware.

The 27-year-old has scored 60 goals and added 39 assists across 202 fixtures and was dubbed ​"unplayable" by Brentford boss Thomas Frank last season after scoring a hat-trick against his outfit in the Premier League.

All told, he's pretty darn good. As with Fullkrug, there's no disputing that Bowen could do a job at No. 9 and do it with aplomb, but he's a winger by trade and finds success through his playmaking and hard-working approach, something that a striker like Abraham would benefit from.

The newly-appointed Irons captain ranks among the top 16% of forwards across Europe's top five leagues over the past year for assists, the top 11% for progressive carries and the top 13% for tackles and blocks per 90, as per FBref, which shows that he is a hard-working attacker who provides great quality in and out of possession.

He also created 12 big chances in the top flight last term and has a fine cross on him, suggesting that his football could be best placed away from the centre of the frontline, especially when considering his goalscoring statistics last year by position (see above).

It's clear that his versatility is crucial for West Ham, and of course, he'll likely find himself up front at some point over the coming year, but Bowen could be positively unplayable if partnered with a 'goal machine' in Abraham who could make up a wonderful, multi-faceted partnership.

The rangy Roma man is a natural-born goalscorer, has artful movements that surprise a few first-time observers, and an imposing, physical presence that could mirror the football of Fullkrug while bringing something a bit different to the table.

Whether West Ham will complete the deal after forking out £120m plus already remains to be seen, but if the financials add up, this could prove to be an excellent signing that would add a dimension to make all the difference in the fight for European football and perhaps a shot at silverware too.

As transfer deadline day approaches, Chelsea still have it all to do when it comes to fine-tuning a packed squad and now reportedly want to use Raheem Sterling in a deal that would kill two birds with one stone.

Enzo Maresca's squad is still full to the brim with talents that he has no plan for, including Sterling, who has even been stripped of his squad number. The Chelsea boss recently spoke about the England international's Stamford Bridge future, admitting that he will not be getting minutes in his side this season.

Sterling's agent has since reportedly done the rounds, offering his client to the likes of West Ham United, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, but it could be those at Stamford Bridge who come up with the best solution.

According to Jason Burt of The Telegraph, Chelsea now want to use Sterling in a swap deal to sign Jadon Sancho, who finds himself in a similar position at Manchester United.

In what would be a sensational deal, Chelsea could kill two birds with one stone by showing Sterling the door and welcoming a younger reinforcement in Sancho. Given how the former Borussia Dortmund star has struggled at Old Trafford too, the deal should suit all parties.

That said, Sterling would certainly be making a controversial move by adding Manchester United to his list of clubs alongside both Liverpool and Manchester City.

"Gifted" Sancho wouldn't solve Chelsea's problems

After Noni Madueke scored a hat-trick last time out and Pedro Neto Neto came from the bench in place of Mykhailo Mudryk to grab his first assist, the last player that Chelsea need is a winger and one who has struggled for form in the Premier League. Signing Sancho would simply see the Blues add to the depth problem that they're currently looking to solve.

What's more, clearing Sterling's £325,000-a-week salary off their wage bill would almost become null and void if the Blues then signed Sancho, who earns a reported £250,000-a-week at Manchester United.

Sancho is, of course, capable of rediscovering the form that saw him become one of Europe's best wingers during his Borussia Dortmund days, but Chelsea simply don't have the squad space to take another gamble.

Dubbed "gifted" by former manager Edin Terzic during his loan spell back at Dortmund last season, Sancho is running out of time to steal a move away from Old Trafford, as is the case with Sterling at Stamford Bridge. A swap deal, on paper, would have made sense earlier in the window, but Chelsea have since added superior attacking reinforcements.

India Women are set to tour Australia for a bilateral series in September. The tour, originally comprising three ODIs and slated for January this year, was officially postponed in December 2020. A report on the Cricket Australia website at the time said the series, rescheduled for the 2021-22 season, would be expanded to include three T20Is.While CA is yet to make an official announcement on the dates or make-up of the series, Australia pace bowler Megan Schutt said on a recent podcast that her side’s next assignment would be against India.”We have got a tour against India in mid-September,” Schutt said on , hosted by Kate Cross and Alex Hartley, in an episode aired on May 13. “So, there’s a couple of camps. After fending off interest from Newcastle United to keep hold of Marc Guehi, Crystal Palace have now reportedly reached an agreement to sign a new partner for the England international.

Having welcomed the likes of Maxence Lacroix and Daichi Kamada in between, however, they should sum up the last few months as fairly successful.

After putting pen to paper to complete a move from Wolfsburg, Lacroix told Palace's official website: "It’s like a dream for a young football player. I’m really happy to be here and arrive at this good team.

“I watched Palace’s last games and I was really happy for the coach, because I’d played under him before. I think it’s the right moment to move to the Premier League.”

Following his arrival, it wouldn't be absurd to suggest that the London club were done on the defensive incomings front. But that's far from the case. According to The Athletic's David Ornstein, Crystal Palace have reached an agreement to sign Trevoh Chalobah on loan from London rivals Chelsea for a small fee on deadline day.

The defender was among those frozen out at Stamford Bridge and told to find a move if he wants minutes this season. And with that being the case, Palace have stepped up to land a loan move without an obligation or option to buy next summer.

It's easy to forget just how sold a centre-back Chalobah is due to how he's been cast aside under Enzo Maresca. Earning a reported £50k-a-week, Chelsea academy graduate is someone who has experience at the very top and is still only 25 years old.

With Palace saving him from the mess that is the current Chelsea setup, for at least this season anyway, he could return to his best and form quite the partnership with Guehi.

Earning plenty of praise before Maresca arrived in London, Chalobah's form was described as "excellent" during Thomas Tuchel's reign. The former Chelsea boss said via Football365: "Fantastic. He gets all the praise and it’s well deserved. Two excellent matches.

"He played against Arsenal and Tottenham in friendlies, then 120 minutes on Wednesday, then 90 today and scores. It’s fantastic these things happen in sports. A perfect day for him."

All of a sudden, from the threat of losing Guehi, Palace are set to have three solid options to turn to in the form of the England international, Chalobah and Lacroix when it comes to Oliver Glasner's defensive duo.
