Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that Erik Lamela will be unavailable for Wednesday’s Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade.

The Argentine has missed Spurs’ last two matches with a hamstring injury.

Lamela was excellent when Mauricio Pochettino’s side welcomed Red Star to London – scoring once and providing two assists in a 5-0 win.

The attacker has missed Tottenham’s last two Premier League games with Liverpool and Everton, though, and will not be available on Wednesday night.

Indeed, the London club’s official Twitter account confirmed the news on Tuesday afternoon, stating that Lamela would miss the Champions League tie but could be available for this weekend’s Premier League clash with Sheffield United.

A number of Spurs fans took to social media to comment on the news, and whilst some were upset, others are not all that surprised due to the 27-year-old’s injury problems in recent seasons – particularly last term as he made just 19 league appearances.

وأردف: “أبو تريكة وعبد الله السعيد ومجدي أفشة لاعب الأهلي هم أفضل صناع لعب حاليًا، وأنا في المرتبة الثانية خلف أبو تريكة”.

وبسؤاله “هل السهر والفتيات أثرا على تاريخك الكروي”، أوضح: “هذه حقيقة، وليس أنا فقط، لكن أي لاعب كرة يسهر ويكون في حياته فتيات تتأثر مسيرته”.

واختتم: “أنا تزوجت مرة واحدة، والسهر والعلاقات كانا قبل الزواج، وأعترف بكل أخطائي، لأنني إذا لم أعترف بها فلن أتغير”.

Crystal Palace fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic’s Dominic Fifield posted a transfer report outlining the club’s plans for the January window.The former Guardian journalist revealed that moves are ‘afoot’ in the winter window to amend for a quiet summer of business, in which the Eagles spent less than £5m and failed to replace last term’s Player of the Season Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as well as loan star Michy Batshuayi.

Fifield revealed that progress is believed to have been made over three additions based in England and abroad, and that there is optimism that the signings can be made.

“They have received encouraging noises, and there is optimism the additions can be made. Now comes the difficult bit: negotiations over the finer details of deals with clubs and prospective signings.”

Roy Hodgson’s side are the second-lowest scorers in the Premier League with ten goals in 12 games, and had just a single shot on target last time out against Chelsea – the south Londoners are looking devoid of any creativity.

Furthermore, the Eagles’ only senior right-back – Joel Ward – went off injured against the Blues, which shone the spotlight on the fact that Wan-Bissaka wasn’t replaced even more.

Fifield’s report, at the very least, should offer supporters some optimism that signings will be made.

وكان شريف فاروق وكيل باتشيكو كشف صباح اليوم أن المدرب البرتغالي تقدم بشكوى ضد القلعة البيضاء بسبب مستحقاته المتأخرة طالع التفاصيل من هنا.

وقال فاروق خلال تصريحات عبر برنامج “البلدوزر” على قناة “الشمس”: “الزمالك استخدم بند من بنود عقد جايمي باتشيكو، وإلى اليوم لم يستلم مستحقاته، محاميه يدرس العقد وقدم ملف للفيفا يطالب فيه بمستحقات المدير الفني، وبعد ذلك أرسل الاتحاد الدولي خطابًا إلى الزمالك، وينتظر الرد”.

وأضاف: “باتشيكو لديه 3 أشهر مستحقات متأخرة، بالإضافة إلى شرط جزائي يعادل راتب شهرين”.

وتابع: “باتشيكو يستحق مبلغ مليون ونصف دولار بناءً على العقد، وهناك حالات مشابهة رأيتها من قبل، والفيفا أصدر حكمه فيها بمبلغ أكبر من المنصوص عليه، كما حدث مع أشيمبونج لاعب الزمالك السابق”.

وأردف: “حاولنا أن نحل الأمر وديًا قبل اللجوء إلى الفيفا، ولكن لم يتواصل معنا أحد من إدارة النادي لحل الأمر، باتشيكو لا يرغب في عمل مشكلة للزمالك، هو فقط يطالب بمستحقاته”.

وأتم: “القضية محسومة ولا تحتمل التأخير، لأنه كلما استغرقت وقتًا أطول سيتكبد الزمالك أموالًا أكثر”.

وكانت إدارة الزمالك قررت رحيل باتشيكو في منتصف مارس الماضي لسوء النتائج، وتم تعيين  الفرنسي باتريس كارتيرون بدلًا منه.

Here are reports on a trio of Nottingham Forest players currently out on loan, with goals, heavy defeats and draws all on the agenda as these Reds endure mixed weeks whilst earning valuable minutes for their respective loan clubs.

Virgil Gomis

Virgil Gomis started and played the full 90 minutes in Macclesfield Town’s 4-0 loss at home to Kingstonians in the first round of the FA Cup.

The loss was extended the club’s unbeaten run to three games across all competitions as first-team players continued their strike over unpaid wages (via BBC).

Tyler Walker

Tyler Walker scored a goal as Lincoln City held League One rivals Ipswich Town to a 1-1 draw in the first round of their FA Cup tie.

The 23-year-old loanee scored the opening goal of the game for the Imps as he struck after a cross from Bruno Andrade (via BBC). It was his ninth goal in his 20th appearance for the League Two club (via Transfermarkt).

Walker showed a willingness to get in behind the Ipswich defence, having been caught offside the most number of times and having the second-joint most shots on goal for his side (via WhoScored).

Luke Steele

Luke Steele’s loan spell provided more of the same for the ‘keeper as he sat on the bench for Millwall’s 2-1 win over south London rivals Charlton Athletic.

The Lions won the game deep into stoppage time after Matt Smith struck home a header after c0rner from Jed Wallace (via BBC).

Steele has made just two appearances for the club since his loan move from the City Ground with both of them coming in the Carabao Cup (via Transfermarkt).

Walker has enjoyed a brilliant spell with Lincoln this season, and could possibly force his way into the Forest squad next season. Lewis Grabban is already 31-years-old and will need replacing in the near future, giving the 23-year-old hope of securing a regular starting place as he has shown he has the quality in front of goal.

Meanwhile, Virgil Gomis is in the midst of a crisis with Macclesfield. The longer the first-team players aren’t paid, the longer the strike goes on, meaning the loan spell will be meaningless for the 20-year-old. To have any chance to progress his career, Forest need to cancel the loan spell and let him move to another club, which will provide him with a stable environment to thrive in.

Steele’s spell at Millwall is proving a waste of time after just two appearances all season. He will be hoping for an injury to starting ‘keeper Bartosz Białkowski in order to secure a starting spot this campaign.

Speaking to The Manchester Evening News, former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson has hailed Fred for his improvements this season.

What did he say?

The Brazil international endured a difficult debut campaign at the club last season, registering just 25 appearances across all competitions. But this year, the former Shakhtar Donetsk man has become an increasingly influential figure for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side, with the United manager even describing him as the “catalyst” for the team’s victory over Brighton before the international break.

And now, Kleberson has given his plaudits to his Brazilian compatriot, and insisted he is beginning to repay the faith and expectation that is being placed on his shoulders right now.

He said: “Fred has got a lot of expectation on him now, as he’s shown his quality. He’s started moving the ball well and shuts down space for the opposition in midfield. When he first started playing alongside Andreas Pereira they struggled, but now they’ve got used to the tempo of the Premier League, they are starting to show their qualities.

“He can continue to improve but everything can change in football, so he needs to stay confident and keep his position in the side. As his position will come down to the team getting the right results.”

Huge strides

With Paul Pogba out injured, Fred has arguably been the man to benefit the most from the France World Cup winner’s absence. Ahead of the Premier League clash against Sheffield United at the weekend, the 26-year-old has played and completed the full 90 minutes in the last five games in the top-flight for the Red Devils.

His increased game-time has also been down to his more influential performances on the pitch, with the midfielder averaging an impressive 2.4 tackles per game in the Premier League. Having arrived from Shakhtar for a fee in the region of £47m, it appears United are finally beginning to see what they shelled all that money out for.
