وبذلك أصبح عسل هو أصغر لاعب يتوج ببطولة أمريكا المفتوحة للإسكواش في التاريخ.

وكرر اللاعب احتفال أسطورة الإسكواش عمرو شبانة بتسلق الملعب الزجاجي حينما توج ببطولة نيويورك في 2013 وأصبح أكبر لاعب يتوج بالبطولة في تاريخها.

Former Leeds United, Manchester City and England international Danny Mills has claimed to Football Insider that Arsenal ace Rob Holding would start for Newcastle United should he make the move to St. James’ Park.

Indeed, The Atheltic journalist and Gunners transfer guru David Ornstein has recently claimed that the Englishman is close to signing for the Tyneside club on a season-long loan deal.

After hearing about this story, Mills was asked as to whether Holding would start in Steve Bruce’s team ahead of the new 2020/21 term, to which he replied:

“Yes, definitely. Newcastle we know last year had all sorts of issues with injuries. Strength in depth is a real problem for them.

“They need some solid players in there and that’s what Steve Bruce will have identified. They might not be the most exciting side on the planet but you’ve got to trust in Steve Bruce and he’ll know what that team needs.

“If you look at the players they’ve got and some of the flair players they’ve got, you need a solid base. 

“He (Bruce) was a defender himself and an unbelievable defender and obviously worked under the greatest Premier League manager of all time so he’ll know what it takes.

“If you get that foundation right then you can build everything of the back of that.”

Indeed, Holding would arguably be a solid signing for the Magpies even if it is just for one campaign. The 24-year old is relatively experienced in the Premier League, having played in 39 matches in total over the last four terms, according to Transfermarkt.

Holding has also won FA Cup trophies and two Community Shield titles, including recently being in the starting 11 which beat Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side 5-4 on penalties after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s rather superb first-half goal was cancelled out by Japanese international Takumi Minamino in the second.

His winning mentality may be useful to Bruce’s team as they look to get enough points on the board in the top-flight table for the new campaign.

The central defender also averaged more passes at a higher success rate than Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar and Federico Fernandez in the EPL in the last season, suggesting that he is more composed on the ball and is comfortable in playing out from the back if and when needed.

Holding may well be a shrew addition to the Toon should NUFC be able to get his signature over the dotted line.

وبسؤاله عن التحكيم في مباراة القمة المقبلة؟، قال: “أنا مع التحكيم المصري باستمرار، وأتمنى أن تتواجد الثقة في الحكم المصري”.

وبسؤاله “ماذا لو لم يطلب الزمالك والأهلي تحكيم أجنبي في مباراة الدوري؟”، قال: “حينها سأقوم بتعيين حكام مصريين لهذه المباراة بنسبة 100%”.

Brighton and Leeds are set to do battle in the transfer market yet again, with both clubs reportedly submitting offers for Lazio’s Jordan Lukaku.

Lazio News reported [via HITC] that the Premier League pair have both made offers of £4.5m for the Belgium defender, who is valued at a modest £5m by the Serie A club.

The Daily Mail reported this week that the 26-year-old is keen to test himself in England, where his brother Romelu played for Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton and West Brom.

Brighton already rejected three bids from Leeds for Ben White in the summer transfer window, while both clubs have been linked with players such as Rico Henry, Jhon Chancellor and Nicolas Gonzalez.

Lukaku, who has been capped eight times by his country, made only one Serie A start last season in an injury-ravaged campaign, often having to be content with coming off the bench for Simone Inzaghi’s side.

Indeed, he has made a paltry two league starts in the last couple of years, with repeated injury problems depriving him of a regular run of games for the Rome-based outfit.

While he had not had the best of times at the Stadio Olimpico over the past two seasons, the 26-year-old can be a useful attacking outlet from the left flank, providing 18 assists in 189 career appearances even though he has played primarily as a left-back (as per TransferMarkt)..

That is a position where Brighton could have a vacancy this season. Dan Burn, by trade a towering centre-back, frequently played on the left-hand side of defence last term and looks set to do so again for the foreseeable future.

That is because Bernardo, a natural left-back at the Amex Stadium, has been linked with an exit from the Seagulls recently, with West Ham and Newcastle among the clubs interested in the Brazilian (as per Sky Sports).

With Lukaku playing so little football since 2018 given his lengthy injury troubles, there would certainly be an element of risk to signing him. However, that is attenuated considerably by his knockdown asking price of £5m, while the possible departure of Bernardo could leave Brighton short-stacked in the left-back area.

As a Belgium international with 66 appearances in Serie A, the Seagulls could do a lot worse than looking to bring in Lukaku and free him from his Lazio torment.

Everton continued their winning streak in the Premier League after snatching three points from Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.

Saturday’s fixture saw regular goal scorers Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison get themselves on the the scoresheet to claim a 2-1 win on the road.

Cheikhou Kouyate cancelled out Everton’s opening goal, but a penalty to the Toffees sealed the fate of both sides.

Sky Sports’ stat man Matt Cheetham revealed that Wilfried Zaha failed to dribble past a single Everton player during the game. This is reportedly the first time he has failed to register a successful dribble at Selhurst Park in four years (relayed via @TheGwladysSt).

Naturally, loads of Blues fans are loving this and are praising their team’s solid defensive performance. Although, a lot of fans are also putting it down to the fact that Zaha is one of Everton’s recently linked targets, which is why he was off in his attacking form.

One supporter has tweeted that the £39.6m-valued forward ‘wants to sign for us’, whilst another has said ‘cue Brands’, as they await a potential deal from the sporting director.

Conviver com altos e baixos é uma realidade não apenas do futebol como também da vida. A frase anterior resume bastante a temporada de Julio Cesar e Diguinho. Os dois começaram o ano sem clube e demoraram até maio para resolver o futuro. Foi quando ambos acertaram com o Vasco, duas contratações vistas com muita desconfiança internamente e externamente. Demorou, mas deu certo.

Atualmente, o lateral-esquerdo, de 33 anos, e o volante, de 32, são titulares e peças importantes na reação do Cruz-Maltino no Campeonato Brasileiro. Julio Cesar não jogava desde que havia rescindido o contrato com o Botafogo, em outubro do ano passado. Já Diguinho estava sem clube desde dezembro do mesmo ano, quando não teve o contrato renovado com o Fluminense.

Nesse período, eles – amigos dos tempos que jogaram juntos no Flu – mantiveram a forma na academia Barra Fit, na Barra da Tijuca, zona oeste do Rio de Janeiro. Treinavam praticamente todos os dias da semana à espera de uma proposta que agradasse. Julio Cesar teve algumas sondagens, mas nenhuma foi para frente. Diguinho chegou a ter propostas de clubes do Oriente Médio, mas também preferiu esperar.

No fim de abril, porém, uma ligação de José Luis Moreira, vice de futebol, para Julio Cesar, e outra de Euriquinho, filho do presidente Eurico Miranda e assessor especial da presidência, para Rafael Correia, empresário de Diguinho, transformou o ano da dupla. Não demorou para acertarem contrato com o Cruz-Maltino até maio do ano que vem.

O que demorou, porém, foi os dois começarem a jogar bem. Sem ritmo de jogo, entraram em um time que já não vinha tão bem no Campeonato Brasileiro e demoraram para engrenar. Diguinho ainda mais, já que esteve envolvido com duas lesões na região lombar. Julio Cesar não se machucou, mas teve mais chances de meia do que de lateral. Desde o início da arrancada no Brasileirão, na 24 rodada, porém, os dois vêm sendo peças importantes para o time.

– Ele é um garoto muito bom. Teve que se readaptar, pois não estava jogando, mas desde que teve sequência começou a jogar bem, principalmente nos últimos jogos. Agora é torcer para o Papai do Céu abençoar o Vasco nesses últimos jogos e continuar na Série A – disse o empresário de Julio Cesar, Reinalto Pitta.

O empresário de Diguinho, Rafael Correia, também falou ao LANCE!:

– O Diguinho estava tranquilo esperando uma boa opção e com certeza fez a escolha certa. Teve um início difícil, já que pela primeira vez não fez uma pré-temporada, mas esteve sempre confiante de que quando tivesse ia readquirir o padrão dele. Agora está focado para salvar o ano com a permanência na Série A.

Os dois estão confirmados para o jogo de domingo, contra o Santos, às 17h, em São Januário, pela penúltima rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro. A partida é decisiva para a luta do Vasco contra o rebaixamento.
