A football finance guru has outlined a potential ‘problem’ that Newcastle United may have that could well harm their chances of a takeover at St. James’ Park.

Speaking to Football Insider, Kieran Maguire has claimed that potential new investors would be inheriting a ‘problem cost’ in Joelinton should they take over in the North East, which may see the Tyneside club’s chances of a takeover potentially harmed as a result:

“Newcastle’s squad is worth more money because they’ve invested more. That has good aspects and bad aspects to it.

“The elephant in the room is the Joelinton factor. Who’s going to sign him given that he’s not delivered for two seasons?

“You’re inheriting a problem cost which you won’t have to the same extent at Derby. There is more flexibility with them.”

Joelinton may be a problem

It is easy to see where Maguire is coming from in terms of the Magpies having a player like Joelinton still at the club.

The Toon reportedly signed the 24-year-old from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim for a club-record £40m transfer fee, which is big money for a club like NUFC to gamble on.

Joelinton’s time at Newcastle has been nothing shy of miserable ever since, with a mere seven goals scored in 71 games in total over all competitions across the last two consecutive terms (Transfermarkt).

The potential new owners would almost certainly not be able to offload the Brazilian striker for anything near to whet they would hope, and so they would likely be left with him stuck on their wage bill.

Nonetheless, any prospective buyers may well be put off by the current valuation of the Magpies squad as Maguire suggests, with some players such as Joelinton potentially becoming a ‘problem’ for them.

أكد أحمد حسام ميدو المدير الفني الأسبق لنادي وادي دجلة أن محمد صلاح لاعب ليفربول الإنجليزي ومنتخب مصر أبدى استياءه من لافتة تحمل اسمه داخل نادي الزمالك.

ويتواجد محمد صلاح مع بعثة منتخب مصر التي وصلت الكاميرون اليوم، استعدادًا للمشاركة في نهائيات كأس أمم إفريقيا 2021.

وقال ميدو ببرنامج “الريمونتادا” المذاع على قناة “المحور”: “العدو الأول لمنتخب مصر في الكاميرون ليس المنافسين ولكن فيروس كورونا”.

وأضاف: “على مسؤوليتي محمد صلاح أبدى استياءه من لافته تحمل اسمه داخل نادي الزمالك، وطلب في معسكر منتخب مصر وأبلغ مسؤولين كبار في الدولة بذلك وطلب أن يزال اسمه من على هذه اللافتة”.

وواصل: “محمد صلاح لا يريد أن يصنف نفسه إذا كان أهلاوي أو زملكاوي، هو يرى أنه محبوب بالنسبة لجماهير مصر، بجانب الأمور التسويقية الخاصة به لأنه يأتي له إعلانات لمجرد استخدام اسمه بملايين”.

واختتم: “مسؤولو الزمالك لم يتواصلوا مع وكيل أعمال صلاح لكي يضعوا اسمه على هذه اللافته، وما طلبه اللاعب أمر طبيعي”.

أكد عصام عبد الفتاح رئيس لجنة الحكام المصرية أن سيكازوي حكم مباراة تونس ومالي في كأس أمم إفريقيا تعرض للإصابة بضربة شمس أثناء إدارة اللقاء.

وتسبب حكم مباراة تونس ومالي، سيكازوي، في فضيحة تحكيمية بعدما أخطأ وأطلق صافرة نهاية اللقاء في الدقيقة 84، قبل أن يتدارك الخطأ ثم كرر الأمر نفسه في الدقيقة 89.

وقال عصام عبد الفتاح في تصريحات إذاعية عبر آثير “اون سبورت اف ام”: “سيكازوي تعرض لضربة شمس عنيفة للغاية وجفاف شديد ومنذ الدقيقة 80 فقد تركيزه تماماً عندما احتسب الوقت بدل الضائع، ثم استمر للدقيقة 85 وتم تنبيهيه من زملائه ليستكمل اللقاء قبل أن يطلق الصافرة بالدقيقة 89”.

وأكمل: “ثم الأحداث التي تبعت المباراة من هرج ومرج وتم أخذ قرار بأن يستكمل الحكم الرابع إدارة اللقاء، ونقل سيكازوي للمستشفى، وكانت هناك روايات انتشرت حوله ولكن ما قلته هو الحقيقة”.

وأوضح: “المادة السابعة من قانون التحكيم تنص أن تعاد المباراة حال حدوث أي شيء يمنع من استكمالها، ولكن هناك بعض البطولات التي لا تجيز إعادتها ومن الممكن أن توجد قوانين أخري”.

Rangers’ run in the Europa League came to an end at Ibrox on Thursday as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against Slavia Prague, with both Kemar Roofe and Leon Balogun seeing red for Steven Gerrard’s side in the second half.

The Liverpool legend took a big risk in selecting the Nigerian international ahead of Filip Helander at centre-back for the tie and unfortunately it did not pay off as the former Wigan Athletic man endured a nightmare display even before his early bath.

As per SofaScore, the 32-year-old earned a 5.9 rating for his performance, which was the worst of any player who started the game.

The centre-back was on tenterhooks for almost the entire match after picking up an early booking, which makes it even more baffling as to why he wasn’t replaced by Gerrard at half-time.

Many Rangers fans were confused as to why Helander didn’t start the game when replying to the team news on Twitter, especially after the Swedish international scored the equaliser in the first leg last week, with many disappointed to see Balogun start.

The Nigerian was perhaps fortunate not to concede a first half penalty when he gave the ball away before finding himself the wrong side of the Slavia attacker but was given the benefit of the doubt by the referee on that occasion.

However, the man in the middle was left with no choice when Balogun made a ridiculous challenge in the second half when Rangers were already down to ten men, as he compounded an awful display by getting himself sent off.

Although Balogun has performed well for Rangers in the Premiership this season, averaging a 7.09 rating, this still rates him below both Helander and Conor Goldson, so it was a surprise to see him start.

The Nigerian international has averaged a less impressive 6.76 rating in the Europa League and was very poor in the 5-2 win against Royal Antwerp recently when he was substituted at half-time by Gerrard.

Therefore, it was something of a tactical disasterclass from Gerrard to select him ahead of Helander for such an important game, but perhaps even more baffling that he kept him on at half-time when it was clear that he was struggling and susceptible to pick up a red card.

Of course, it’s easy to criticise in retrospect and, if Balogun had performed superbly in a Rangers win, then we would probably be talking about how it was such a good decision by Gerrard to start him. However, the reality is that the Gers were let down by Gerrard’s decision to select the Nigerian ahead of Helander on Thursday.

وكان إيفرتون قد قرر أمس إقالة المدرب رافا بينيتيز من منصبه، لسوء النتائج في الموسم الحالي.

وذكرت شبكة “ذا أثلتيك” الإنجليزية، أن إيفرتون يتطلع إلى تعيين روبرتو مارتينيز في منصب مدرب الفريق، وعرض عليه بالفعل تلك الوظيفة.

وأوضحت أن إيفرتون يفضل أن يعود مدربه السابق إلى النادي على أساس مؤقت، في نفس وقت توليه مسؤولية تدريب بلجيكا.

وإذا حدثت هذه الخطوة، رغم وجود بعض الأسباب وراء عدم حدوثها بعد، فإن مارتينيز يرغب في أن ينضم إليه تييري هنري، الرجل الثاني في منتخب بلجيكا، كمساعد له في التوفيز.

وأشارت إلى أن روبرتو مارتينيز يجري حاليًا محادثات مع مسؤولي منتخب بلجيكا لبحث إمكانية العودة إلى جوديسون بارك.

وأفادت أنه من المفهوم أن الاتحاد البلجيكي لكرة القدم يفضل بقاء روبرتو مارتينيز.

Numerous Aston Villa supporters have been reacting to Tammy Abraham’s recent social media activity.

As reported by Birmingham Live, Abraham, who scored 26 goals for Villa in a season-long loan during the 2018/19 season, still keeps an eye on his former club.

Aston Villa posted on Instagram to congratulate forward Ollie Watkins for scoring on his England debut against San Marino, which led to the Chelsea man commenting with clapping and fire emojis.

Abraham, valued at £36m by Transfermarkt, has been linked with a return to Villa Park earlier this month after falling out of favour under new Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

The 23-year-old has been in-and-out of the Chelsea team since January, scoring once following the German’s arrival.

وقال عبد المطلب إن اللواء يحيى زكريا رئيس لجنة الأمن والنظام في البطولة، قد عقد عددًا من الاجتماعات مع الجهات الأمنية خلال الأيام الماضية، مشيرًا إلى أنه تم التوصل لاتفاق بحضور ألفي مشجع لفعاليات بطولة كأس العالم للأندية.

وتستضيف مصر بطولة كأس العالم للأندية في الفترة من الحادي عشر وحتى الثالث عشر من شهر فبراير المقبل، والتي تقام على صالة الدكتور حسن مصطفى، بمشاركة نادي الزمالك، وبورجوس الإسباني ممثل أوروبا، وفلامنجو البرازيلي ممثل أمريكا الجنوبية، وليك لاند ماجيك الأمريكي بطل الـG-league وممثل الـNBA.

ويشارك نادي الزمالك في البطولة لأول مرة في تاريخه وتاريخ الأندية المصرية بصفته بطل قارة إفريقيا، بعد تتويجه بلقب بطولة إفريقيا للأندية BAL.
